Speakers Choosing

Speakers are very important devices in your home theater. Get to know three types of your speakers: floor, wall and bookshelf speakers. Read brief information about them and choose an appropriate variant.
Speakers Choosing

speakers_choosingA great decision that has an impact on the kind of speakers you get is the room that they will go in. Your choice depends on whether you have a large place for your system, or maybe just a regular old room setup. Normally you will pick between:
• Floor Speakers
• Wall Speakers
• Bookshelf Speakers

The short of it is that floor speakers will be located on your floor and normally are bigger than bookshelf and wall speakers. Bookshelf speakers are frequently the smallest of the three, can be super-tiny but produce big sound and wall speakers are actually installed in a wall. So which one is appropriate for you? Well if you want good sound and you don't want to pay too much, go with Bookshelf speakers. They're rather good for a variety of purposes and if you don't want to tear down walls putting speakers in, go with these lovely speakers. Again, you can get some decent sound out of them and since they can often be really tiny, you can usually hide them within your room. If your home is being constructed now of you feel confident in your handy work, wall speakers gave things a very nice look since they actually reside in your walls. While not as expensive as floor speakers they're nice especially if you're setting up sound in your entire house, (i.e. intercom, radio, etc). Floor speakers are often the largest of all in size, price and quality.

Speaker power is normally measured in watts, and average bookshelf speakers, (especially the sub par ones you get out of the "surround sound in a box packages"), are normally about 30-60 watts. And even that will sound average. 100 watts is better (good for your run of the mill home theater setups). It's what you want. Like receivers, most speakers are plugged in at big retailers, and it's normally some big red button you have to push to get sound pumping through the speaker in front of you. Check them out! If you need to ask someone how to listen to the speakers in shop, do it. It's worth it. On a final note, if you can't find the wattage of the speakers anywhere, often they can be found on the back of the speaker itself.
