| Money Saving Tips | Home theater can be a money saving experience for your family during the global economic crisis. Here are some tips that will help you to save with home theater:
1. Check what you already have. It your HDTV has been bought within the last few years, it can be a great foundation.
2. Everybody wants to purchase a really large TV. Nevertheless, you can save some cash and still get an appropriate size TV, if not the biggest one in the store. A 42, 40, or even a 37-inch size flat panel TV can provide good viewing conditions in most average size living room. There is no need to go in for purchasing 46 or 60-inch LSD or Plasma TV if your viewing position is only 6 to 8 feet from the screen.
3. If you have an Upscaling DVD player, it may take some advantage of your HDTV’s capabilities. Of course, it will be even better if you get a Blu-ray Disc player. If you do not have a Blu-ray Disc player and are tight of money, forget about it for a while, pay about half the price for an upscaling DVD player. Remember, that DVD movies are much cheaper than their Blu-ray counterparts, which usually cost $5-10 more per movie.
4. If you already have any audio system at home, even a stereo-only system, it can offer you better audio conditions than that provided by the limited capabilities of your Television’s Built-in speakers. However, if you do have a surround sound audio system, even if it does not have all up-to-date features, it will do for your Home Theater room very good. If you are going to buy a new system, check out an affordable Home Theater-in-a-Box as one possible option. By all means listen it before you buy.
5. For sure you will need some decent speakers. However, they is no need to get very expensive ones. The most important while choosing loudspeakers is to listen before you buy, especially if you are buying used loudspeakers. If you already have a good loudspeakers do not throw them away. In case they sound good in your current setup, they may still be fine for a home theater setup as well. If you like the way they sound, use them until you can afford to upgrade.
